Naval Rescue Station Oryx ("NRS Oryx") is a naval station of the United States Navy in Second Life ("USNSL"). The station is located in the Oryx region of Second Life on the southern shore of the Corsica continent (the northern shore of the Aldabra Sea). View Oryx on the map.
NRS Oryx is the headquarters of the USNSL Medical Corps, Diving and Salvage Training Center, Experimental Diving Unit, Search and Rescue Training Center and Surface Warfare Officers School.
In addition, NRS Oryx provides medical education and assistance to all USNSL personnel and persons in need. The mission of NRS Oryx is to: (1) provide medical education and assistance to all USNSL personnel and persons in need, (2) provide superior education in the areas of medicine, diving and rescue operations, and surface ware operations (3) serve as the regional command for all USNSL assets, patrols and naval intelligence in Corsica and the Aldabra Sea, and (4) support the mission of the USNSL.
